Vanessa Bryant is paying tribute to her late husband, Kobe Bryant.
On Friday, April 18, the philanthropist honored her wedding anniversary with a heartfelt Instagram photo.
The couple, who first met in the summer of 1999 and were engaged within six months, married on April 18, 2001. They tied the knot at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, Calif., with only about 12 people in attendance at the private ceremony.
Vanessa’s tribute post acknowledged their 24th anniversary, highlighting Kobe’s No. 24 Los Angeles Lakers jersey. “#24. #Anniversary ?? @kobebryant ???? 4/18/01 ????????," the 42-year-old captioned the post, alongside a photo of her and Kobe at the Rush Hour 2 premiere in July 2001.
After the pair tied the knot, they welcomed four daughters: Natalia, 22, Bianka, 8, Capri, 5, and the late Gianna. The latter was killed in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26, 2020, alongside her dad and seven other passengers. Gianna was 13 and Kobe was 41.

Vanessa Bryant posts to Instagram for Kobe Bryant's birthdayIn the years since their deaths of her “soulmate” and her “baby girl,” the family has honored their passing with a series of memorials to keep their memories alive. In August, the Lakers and Vanessa unveiled a bronze statue titled “Girl Dad” outside of Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
“This pain is unimaginable [but] you just have to get up and push forward,” she told PEOPLE in March 2021. “Lying in bed crying isn’t going to change the fact that my family will never be the same again. But getting out of bed and pushing forward is going to make the day better for my girls and for me. So that’s what I do.”
