Margot Robbie and her husband, Tom Ackerley, have welcomed their first baby.
Robbie, 34, has given birth to a baby boy, People confirmed on Saturday, November 2. According to an earlier report from the Daily Mail, the actress went into labor two weeks ago in October just before her due date and, a source confirmed to the outlet, "all is well."
Us Weekly has reached out for further details.
News broke of the Barbie star’s pregnancy in July. After photos published by the Daily Mail sparked speculation, multiple sources confirmed the development to People.
Robbie and Ackerley met on the set of Suite Française in 2013, but their relationship started out platonic.
“We were friends for so long,” she told Vogue in 2016. “I was always in love with him, but I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him.’ And then it happened, and I was like, ‘Of course, we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.’”
That December, Us Weekly confirmed that Robbie and Ackerley privately tied the knot in Australia.
“Being married is actually the most fun ever. Life got way more fun somehow,” she told PORTER magazine in November 2018. “I have a responsibility being someone’s wife. I want to be better.”
Margot Robbie and Husband Tom Ackerley’s Relationship Timeline: Inside Their Low-Key Marriage
Robbie hinted that she “definitely” wanted to start a family with Ackerley at some point, but the timing was not right then.
“Three days ago, my husband stopped by a dog shelter on the way back from the airport and we now have a pit bull puppy,” she continued. “We already have a 2-year-old who still acts like a puppy. I love him, but he’s a handful and for the last three days, I haven’t slept. If I’m looking into my future 30 years from now, I want to see a big Christmas dinner with tons of kids there, but definitely not at the moment. That’s 100 percent certain.”
Months later, Robbie spoke out about the speculation surrounding her family planning schedule. “I got married and the first question in almost every interview is, ‘Babies? When are you having one?’” she explained to the U.K.’s Radio Times in January 2019. “I’m so angry that there’s this social contract. You’re married, now have a baby. Don’t presume. I’ll do what I’m going to do.”
As for her relationship with Ackerley, the two have expertly meshed their personal and business lives as co-owners of the production company LuckyChap Entertainment, with Ackerley telling The Times of London in June that they spend “24 hours a day” together.
“It’s seamless,” he added. “We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing.”
