CineFAM Film Festival will celebrate 7 years of bringing thought provoking films December 8-10^th, live at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto and online. This year's festival looks at the ways in which women of colour connect, create, and thrive. In a time where we are seeing radical changes to the ways in which we as a culture create and consume stories, we look to ways in which our stories will survive us. Who will continue our legacy? What are the bonds we form today that will create the future we want to see? CineFAM will celebrate acceptance, belonging and bold identities. The festival will start with a mixer on December 8 at TIFF's Founders Lounge, followed by two nights of screenings at TIFF Bell Lightbox totaling 17 films around The ties that bind on December 9 and Shifting Identities on December 10. "We are excited to extend our collaboration with TIFF and make it a home to one of CaribbeanTales Media Group's signature festivals: CineFAM", share Festival Director Diana Webley.
                               
Running simultaneously to the festival, CineFAM ShopTalks will return online to this year's CineFAM edition starting November 21^st. The series further amplifies the voices of Canadian women and non-binary filmmakers of colour. The popular program encourages filmmakers to talk about diversity in the film industry and to share their challenges, further exploring how this influences their filmmaking.  CineFAM ShopTalk conversations reveal commonalities across Canada, as well as region-specific disadvantages.  https://cinefam.ca/shoptalk-2023/

About CineFAM
CineFAM is a Haitian Creole word meaning "films by women". Founded by filmmaker and producer Frances-Anne Solomon in 2016, CineFAM is registered as a not-for-profit company in Canada. CineFAM's mandate is to support bold, original film stories by Women and non-binary creators of colour around the globe. Since 2016, annual activities include: a 3-day film festival; a short film challenge for emerging filmmakers. In 2019, CineFAM launched its first Feature Film Incubator for Canadian women of colour directors.
