Award-winning Ghanaian gospel singer and songwriter, Joe Mettle says attempts by Nigeria’s Hilda Baci to set a new cooking marathon world record which saw her cook for 100 hours should inspire Christians to deepen their prayer lives.
The 27-year-old chef who hails from Akwa Ibom state became a subject of international interest when she started a cooking marathon on Thursday, May 11, in a bid to break the world record of 87 hours, 45 minutes set by Chef Lata London in Rewa, India in 2019.
While many people continue to pour praises on the popular chef for setting out on such a feat, Joe Mettle believes her determination should be an inspirational tool for Christians to be more prayerful.
In a tweet yesterday, May 15, the Kadosh noted that he was certain the new feat will spark discussions about the prayer life of Christians.
“Why do I have a feeling chef Hilda’s achievement of being able to stand all these hours to cook, is about to trigger a new sermon and discussion on how long we are able to stand in prayer before God,” he tweeted.
His tweet received responses from his followers with many criticising his position, arguing that standing in prayer for extended periods of time was unnecessary.
“Is it by force to pray for hours? The number of hours in prayers isn’t important, what’s more important is obeying the commandments, u don’t need hours to tell God what u want. Why? Ibi u dey carry Ghana’s problems,” a follower retweeted.
