yoyo tinz has partnered with Mensa to support his current crowdfunding campaign from where it all started; Accra, Ghana.
Mensa has an upcoming new album “Bondzie - Speak Up”, a live EP and a music documentary called “a-live.” The new album has been constructed with a principle: timeless music, and authentic storytelling. It’s a concept, and it has been anticipated with the release of a new EP called “Kickin’ N Startin,” to just give a gist of what’s coming next and to bring another step forward Mensa’s long-lasting career.
To release his new body of work Mensa has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter and a Momo Campaign in partnership with the Ghanaian Hip Hop collective yoyo tinz, making his new release a collective effort.
With the help of yoyo tinz, an Accra based hip hop organisation aiming at promoting, documenting and archiving hip hop culture in Ghana and beyond, Hip Hop lovers, Mensa’s fans and everyone who wishes to support can simply send their contribution via Mobile Money - 05 94 66 99 03. For Mensa, this is a way to maintain creative control of his narrative, without compromise, and to empower his audience with an active role. A choice that is as non-conformist and innovative as every career choice he has made for the past 10 years.
Mensa Ansah’s (M3NSA) international debut and MOBO nominated solo album, No.1 Mango Street, just turned 10 Years Old. No.1 Mango Street is a vibrant portrait of Mensa’s journey from his childhood in Ghana to the experience of the world he was allowed to have, thanks to a music career that started when he was 16 years old.
10 years after No.1 Mango Street, Mensa is a full-blown creative with dozens of albums produced in his collaborative ventures like FOKN Bois and REDRED, and for many other Ghanaian and international musicians.
