QwameGaby’s song Aseda got nominated for the Praise Song of The Year and he is up against the likes of Mary Agyemang, Joyful Way Incorporated, Odehyie Priscilla Agyemang, Frank Opoku, Piesie Esther, Obaa Joyce and Joyce Blessing.

“Getting a nomination means I’m a winner so I’m not threatened by other contenders but I will campaign for the votes as the award scheme requires.

Besides, this nomination is a sign of good things for my music career and I want to encourage my fans to vote massively for me to bring the award home,” he stated.

In March last year, the Chartered Marketer won the Gospel Song of the Year with his track, Fre No, at the second edition of the Volta Music Awards (VMA) and said there will be another victory.

Apart from QwameGaby, other artistes who got nominations in the NGMA were Celestine Donkor, Akesse Brempong, Diana Hamilton, Obaapa Christie, Enoch Narh and Nana Kweku Osei (Nacee) who will battle it out in the biggest category, Artist of The Year.

Organised by Global Expert Recovery Ltd, the third edition of the Ghana National Gospel Music Awards (NGMA) will come off on February 1 at a yet to be announced venue. The Voting Academy holds 60 per cent of the voting power with the public holding 40 per cent.

There are 15 awards to be presented in categories including Worship Song of the Year, Group of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Traditional Song of the Year, Urban Song of the Year, Hybrid Song of the Year and Song of the Year.
