However, that worry was completely eroded when patrons trooped in in their numbers a little after 9pm. Before that the Patch Bay Band had treated the small number of patrons to some great live band music while free cocktails were handed out to guests.   

Highlife legend, Nana Tuffour kicked off the show and he had a great night. Although, he was unwell and spent most of his time on stage in a chair, he got the patrons to sing along to his popular songs like Abeiku, Me Yere Dada, Daamabi and M'asan Aba.

Adina put up a good show even though she had lost her voice
Although she had lost her voice, Adina was still great to watch. Dressed in a lovely gown, the singer did not allow her hoarse voice take away from her show and she connected with the audience and had fun on stage. She enlisted the patrons' help to sing her hits, Makoma and Killing Me Softly.

The surprise act on the night was Prince Bright, the other half of music duo, Buk Bak and he did not disappoint. Wearing an all white outfit, his performance was awesome and he got the patrons on their feet doing crowd pleasers like Kelewele, Trotro, I’m Going To Come, Gonja Barracks and You For Know.

From the audience's performance, it was clear the group had been missed and Bright paid homage to his partner, the late Ronnie Coches by asking for a minute's silence in his honour.
 
Teshie Trey Songz as King Promise is sometimes called also delivered while former lead singer of the Marriots Band, Armah Pino, showed that he had not lost it at all.

The audience loved his ease on the stage and responded well to his biggest song, Maria and the Marriots' Ozim Zim song.

Kuami Eugene proved that he is one of the best performers in the industry at the moment with his time on stage.

Getting the audience's support with their screams and he did not disappoint; his energy, voice and dance moves all came together well and the audience were with him all the way as he performed renditions of his hits including Angela, Confusion and Wish Me Well.

Andy Dosty on the turntables

Hitz FM's Andy Dosty proved he hasn't lost his abilities behind the turntables as he made the audience jam to his playlist, which was made up of old school hits, reggae and the current hits.

The MTN Music Festival was hosted by musician, Okyeame Kwame and Hitz FM’s Doreen Avio. It was organised in partnership with Slip Entertainment to celebrate Ghana's cultural heritage through music, dance and poetry.
