Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo, Flagbearer of New Patriotic Party (NPP)) was the toast of people in communities in the northern sector of the Volta Region where he completed a week's campaign tour.
The people of all ages, men and women left their normal chores to welcome Nana Akufo Addo.
Overwhelmed by the reception, he said "I am happy the Volta Region is becoming more fertile for the NPP and we shall do all within our reach to win more votes in the Region."
He said his major campaign would be in the Volta Region where the Party must win more votes and Parliamentary seats in Election 2008.
Nana Akufo-Addo, commended the chiefs and people for their confidence in the NPP and pledged that his government would reciprocate their gesture.
At Tutukpini, a farming community near Nkwanta, the chiefs and people having waited for Nana Akufo-Addo's entourage in the chief's palace up to 2000 hours, pitched camp in the middle of the main road to make sure that he did not leave them.
Nana Kwame Bonja II, Paramount Chief of Tutukpini expressed joy for the opportunity to meet the Flagbearer of NPP after having waited for about 11 hours.
He commended the NPP Government for development projects in the Nkwanta District and hoped these would be completed on time and the Tutukpini township roads and electricity projects also tackled.
At Borae and Breweniase, where the entourage made "whistle" stops, a "sea" of NPP colours overwhelmed them.
