ASA Savings and Loans Limited has presented a large quantity of educational materials and facilities to the Kukuo A.M.E Zion Primary and Sakasaka M/A Primary Schools in the Tamale Metropolis to help enhance educational outcomes.
The items include furniture, exercise books, school uniforms, ceiling fans, pencils, a polytank and a washroom facility.
The donation forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at contributing to the improvement of education in its operational areas.
Presenting the items at separate ceremonies last Friday, the Operations Manager for the Northern and Bono Areas at ASA, Mohammed Majeed Ali, said the company remained committed to supporting communities where it operated, especially in the area of education.
He added that the gesture was to help address some of the infrastructural and material needs of the schools, and to create a more conducive learning environment for the pupils.
“This is our small way of giving back to the communities that support our business,” he said.
For his part, the Kukuo Branch Manager of ASA, Alfred Sika, said: “Your parents are our customers, and because of that, we deemed it fit to donate these items to benefit you, their children.”
The Headmaster of Kukuo A.M.E Zion Primary School, Alhassan Abdulai Halidu, thanked ASA Savings and Loans for the kind gesture, saying it would go a long way to improve teaching and learning in the school.
He pledged to put the items to good use and called on other organisations to emulate ASA’s example to help bridge the gap in educational resources.
He added that the support would motivate both teachers and pupils to give their best.
