Africa’s renewable energy sector is experiencing unprecedented growth, with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) projecting that the continent could meet nearly 70% of its electricity demand with renewables by 2030. Investment in energy infrastructure, however, remains a critical challenge, with an estimated $190 billion needed annually to achieve universal energy access and sustainability goals.
The Africa Energy Indaba 2025, taking place from 4–6 March 2025 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, will convene global experts, investors, and policymakers to address these pressing issues. Discussions will focus on innovative financing solutions, unlocking private-sector capital, and fostering public-private partnerships to accelerate the development of energy infrastructure across the continent.
