ASA Savings and Loans, a leading financial firm in the country has extended its educational support to over twenty vicinities within Greater Accra and Central Regions.

Under the support, each beneficiary received a cheque amount of GH¢1,000 which is intended to support the education of its customers’ wards.

Some of the localities from which these students were drawn include Kasoa, Kasoa Ofaakor, Mallam, Weija, Somanya, Dodowa, Adenta, Ashale Botwe, Madina, Oyarifa, Maamobi, Nima, Accra Newtown. Others were from Osu, Kotobabi, Teshie, La, Nungua and its environs.

At a short presentation at one of the venues, the Area Manager of Kasoa, Madam Beatrice Baiden disclosed that this has been an important initiative the firm undertakes all year round, to help reduce the burden parents go through in providing the educational needs of their wards. “It is our hope that this support is going to go a long way to help bring up responsible citizens shortly, which also forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR),” she added.

In his remark, the CSR/Sustainability Manager, Richard Nartey assured of the company’s continued support for women entrepreneurs. “These students were carefully selected for this award to encourage them to keep up the good work academically”. He stressed that the company’s mission is to reduce poverty in the world, in line with the UN’s SDG-1, and reiterated ASA’s heavy investment in CSR activities across the country.

A beneficiary customer, Joyce Alikor Simon, on behalf of all the parents, showered praise on the management of ASA for this kind support and promised to put the amount to good use so her child will grow into a responsible adult.

At the various presentations were area managers Pope Neequaye, Zalia Alhassan, Eugene Owusu Biney, and branch managers Lydia Teye, Sabina Kumfu, Swallah Mohammed and Salma Attick.
