The six-year licensing round, launched by Angola’s national concessionaire – the ANPG – has been a cornerstone in the country’s strategy to attract and secure substantial investments in its oil and gas sector.

With up to 55 blocks on offer, ANPG’s licensing round is designed to offer consistent and transparent opportunities for operators and service companies to tap into the country’s vast hydrocarbon potential.

While actively promoting exploration in the frontier Namibe Basin, as well as in its relatively underexplored onshore basins, the ANPG is taking a holistic view at driving exploration across both mature and frontier prospects. To guarantee success, there is a need to make even more sub-surface data available to interested explorers and for that, the ANPG is willing to explore new ideas together with the Geophysics industry in the run up to their next round of licencing initiatives in 2025.
