Africa Data Centres (ADC), a subsidiary of Cassava Technologies Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with Onix Data Centre to expand its presence in West Africa.
Africa Data Centres owns and operates Africa’s largest network of interconnected, carrier and cloud-neutral data centre facilities.
Speaking at the signing of the partnership deal with ONIX Data Centre in Accra on Friday, the Regional Executive, West Africa at Africa Data Centres, Dr Krishnan Ranganath, said the partnership marked a significant milestone in Africa Data Centres’ mission to expand its data centre footprint across the continent starting from Ghana and provide world-class data centre solutions to its customers.
He said the deal between Africa Data Centres and Onix Data Centre would primarily focus on Ghana and other mutually beneficial markets where Africa Data Centres did not currently have a physical presence.
“This collaboration will enable Africa Data Centres to offer its customers extended geographical reach, expanded expertise, and a unified customer experience across multiple markets,” Dr Ranganath noted.
He said Africa Data Centres, which was a trusted partner for rapid and secure data centre services and interconnections across Africa, through the partnership with ONIX Data Centre, was bringing international expertise to the pan-African market.
The Chief Executive Officer of ONIX Data Centres, Yen Choi, said his outfit, which owned a tier four data Centre at Kpone-Katamanso, was excited about the partnership.
He said the partnership would go a long way to “leapfrog the digital and technological transformation agenda of the government”.
He said it was important for Ghana to have its data centres located in the country.
The Chief Executive Officer of UniCloud Africa, Ladi Okuneye, who witnessed the programme, said the partnership would help SMEs to access data services.
