The Minister of Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has pledged to support the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in their efforts to meet revenue targets.
Dr Amin Adam, who visited the Aflao Collection Post on Friday, charged officials of the Customs Division of the GRA to work diligently towards achieving the revenue target of GH¢176 billion set by the government for the year 2024.

The minister was accompanied by the GRA Commissioner-General, Julie Essiam, Customs Commissioner, Brigadier-General Ziblim Ayorrogo, and officials of the GRA and Ministry of Finance.
Dr Amin Adam praised the dedication of staff at the border post and urged them to continue to work hard to exceed expectations while attaining the ambitious revenue target.
“I’m highly impressed by the energy and drive of the officers here. Your work in helping us to rake in the needed revenue is evident, which is why I’m here today to urge you to continue to work hard to exceed expectations,” the minister said.
He emphasised the critical role of the Customs Division in revenue mobilisation, highlighting its significance in generating the necessary resources to meet the country’s developmental needs.
The minister stressed the importance of surpassing the 2023 revenue target to support national development initiatives, and free up resources for investment in critical sectors of the economy.
In a bid to enhance revenue collection efforts, the Finance Minister reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the Customs Division receives the necessary support and resources to fulfill its mandate effectively.
Meanwhile, the GRA Commissioner-General, Julie Essiam, also emphasised the importance of enhancing the image of the GRA and transitioning towards collaborative and partnership-based relations with taxpayers.
She stressed the need for the GRA to create a new image and foster stronger ties with taxpayers.
She also pledged to prioritise staff welfare and provide the necessary logistics to enhance revenue collection efforts.
On his part, Customs Commissioner, Brigadier-General Ziblim Ayorrogo, underscored his division’s preparedness in ensuring border security, particularly as the country heads to the polls this year.
He emphasised the commitment of customs officials to seeing to it that Ghana’s land borders are well manned and secured while maintaining the focus on revenue mobilisation.
