Twenty young women entrepreneurs from the Volta and Oti regions recently participated in a two-day digital empowerment workshop titled 'Count Her In: Invest in Women, Accelerated Progress' held in Ho.
Organized by Plan International Ghana, the workshop focused on digital entrepreneurship, providing participants with business development, e-commerce, social media marketing, and branding skills. The goal was to help women build networks, leverage technology, and grow their ventures while addressing gender gaps.
Mr. Suleman Hor-Gbana, from Plan International Ghana's Southern Programme Influencing and Impact Area (SPIIA), emphasized the importance of supporting young businesswomen with capacity building to drive transformational development in communities. He highlighted the benefits of digital networks for business expansion and marketing.
The Ho Municipal Director of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Charles Gomenu stressed the need to empower young people to start their businesses as an effective solution to address graduate unemployment, encouraging them to create opportunities for others as well.
The Youth Facilitator at Plan International Ghana, Abena Akiyaa Anim-Adjei mentioned the need for innovative business methods in today's rapidly changing world, while Selase Adolphine Donudenu, Head of the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) in Ho Municipality, reminded participants to take advantage of available grants and support services for business expansion.

The workshop covered topics such as entrepreneurial mindset, marketing strategies, and digital marketing, benefiting women from various sectors including soap production, leather manufacturing, cake designing, farming, and ICT consultancy.
