Heineken, the leading international beer brand, has commemorated a significant milestone - its 150th anniversary - by sponsoring Africa's premier music festival, Hey Neighbour.
Nestled within the esteemed Legends Adventure Farm in Pretoria, South Africa, this three-day event marked the pinnacle of the brewer's year-long celebration spanning the African continent in honour of Heineken's rich heritage.
Drawing a staggering crowd of over 65,000 festival-goers, Heineken united music lovers from across Africa in a toast celebrating decades of shared memories, joyous celebrations, and, above all, good times.
Against the backdrop of electrifying performances by superstars like American rap icon Kendrick Lamar, South African Pop and R&B sensation Tyla, Swedish house music supergroup, Swedish house mafia, and more, attendees immersed themselves in the euphoria of live music while embracing the essence of Heineken's storied journey.
Reflecting on this historic milestone, Nabil Nasser, Global Head of the Heineken Brand, remarked, "The Hey Neighbour Festival was a remarkable showcase of Heineken's commitment to delivering good times with every sip. Hosting attendees from across Africa at the festival solidifies our dedication to fostering connections and creating platforms that transcend barriers and bring the continent together."
Echoing the festival's significance, Warren Le Grange, Creative Director of Khoi Kreative, the festival organisers, expressed, "Hey Neighbour transcends entertainment; it symbolises a collective celebration of music, culture and the beautiful tapestry of diversity. The festival embodies an immersive journey, uniting neighbours as friends through the power of music and we're glad to have been able to provide the perfect platform for the culmination of Heineken's 150th anniversary celebration in Africa."
