This is the fourth edition of this category in the same awards program – 2018, 2021, 2022 and now 2023 –, which has always been won by MIRANDA. The other law firms’ that were shortlisted in this edition were Dentons LEAD, PLMJ and VdA.

In announcing MIRANDA as Lusophone Africa Law Firm of the Year 2023, the Judges noted:

The firm maintains a substantial team in Lisbon whose combined experience assisting with Africa-related transactions spans several decades. Miranda is additionally noteworthy for its co-ordination of the Miranda Alliance network of independent law firms, through which it is able to offer on-the-ground resources across Lusophone Africa. Many of the network’s members maintain top-tier rankings in their own right. Client feedback contains high praise for the team’s comprehensive advice, efficiency and understanding of commercial priorities.”
