Gabrielle Union And Dwayne Wade's Visit to Elmina

Last month, students from our free Children's Art Program presented Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union with a portrait of their beautiful family drawn by Samuel, one of our talented top students. The students and our shop manager, Raphael also presented a special gift for the Wade's 3 year old daughter Kaavia James Union Wade with a special After My Kind book and doll. It was wonderful to see the family here in Elmina and make them feel welcome. Ghana to the World!

Chale Socks Pop Up In Harlem, NYC
We organized a Pop Up event for Chale Socks in Harlem, NYC in partnership with African Chop House at the award winning West African restaurant, Teranga for a beautiful Afropolitan collaboration!

The Chale collection featuring Adinkra embellished sweaters, sweatshirts, socks and tote bags were well received by attendees which included many fashion and style influencers. We even ran into Ghanaian celebrity blogger, Ameyaw Debrah, former NBA player Pops Mensah-Bonsu, and Afrochella co-Founder, Abdul Abdullah who all patronized the Chale brand.

We are committed to providing platforms and opportunities for Ghanaian and African brands and creatives and will be doing more events and programs to support local artisans in the new year.

African Ancestry Ghana Family Reunion Visit
The African Ancestry Ghana Family Reunion group stopped by for the Akan Collective shopping experience. The group also met our art students and made a donation to our art program.

The group have all traced their Ancestry to Ghana via DNA testing and visited the country for the first time.

We curate unique cultural experiences for visiting groups.
