The storage facilities, which form part of the company’s strategic growth, are located in Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi and Buipe.

The Managing Director, Mr Edwin Provencal, speaking with journalists on the sidelines of BOST 2022 Annual General Meeting last week Friday, said that the construction of the LPG storage facilities was part of the company’s strategy of aggressively growing its business by developing a network of storage tanks, pipelines, and other bulk transportation infrastructure throughout the country.

According to him, the Front End Engineering Design for the project had almost been completed.

Mr Provencal said the construction of the LPG tank farms at all the BOST existing depots, when completed, would enable the company to store LPG as part of national strategic reserve for the country.

He indicated that BOST had identified LPG products as one of the opportunities for the growth of the company.

“The LPG storage tanks will contribute to meeting the growing demand for LPG products by consumers as it will generate more revenue for the government,” he said.

The BOST MD assured that the company would continue to work towards becoming the number one fuel and logistics business operator in the West African Sub-region.

Mr Provencal stressed that the Right-of-way of its depots and pipelines remained high security zones and continuous efforts were being made to ensure the integrity of the facilities.

In line with this, the Board Chairman of BOST, Ekow Hackman, said the company was investing in modern surveillance systems for the depots as well as leak and intrusion detection systems for the pipelines.

BOST, he said, had over the years consistently supported communities located within the vicinity of its facilities.

“This has been achieved through initiatives to enhance the well-being of inhabitants of these communities in line with the corporate social responsibility policy of the company,” Mr Hackman said.

The Board Chairman, said the company had provided needy engineering students with financial assistance in the form of scholarships.

Mr Hackman said BOST had been placed on the right footing due to the strong foundations that had been laid for growth of the country.

He said upgrading of the depots of BOST when completed would place the company at par with other oil storage companies which have the state-of-the-art equipment and will establish the company as the market leader in the country.
