The all-important occasion brought together personalities from all walks of life including business owners, highly regarded clergymen and women, the queen mother of Anwomaso and an associated sub-chief, a representative of the Regional Manager of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Former President of the Ghana Hotel Association (GHA), former Chairman of GHA, representatives of distinguished media houses, family and friends.
Apart from the official launch of the Silver Jubilee, the Award-winning hotel has carried out a series of activities to mark the celebrations which include a clean-up exercise, a thanksgiving service and a friendly football competition with staff and students of the Weweso Senior High School.
Since 1997, the Royal Basin Resort has transformed from a small-scale hotel of 12 rooms to a 22-bedroom property with top-notch hotel products and services.
Speaking to the media after the event, the Managing Director of the Hotel, Essie Agyapong-Poku said, "so much has changed since 1997 but the one thing which has remained the same is our aspiration to always keep our clients’ satisfaction at the core of our operations. We are proud of the journey we have made in becoming an all-inclusive internationally recognised three-star hotel".
Mrs Poku made special mention of the unflinching loyalty of several guests who have stayed with Royal Basin as their preferred hotel in Kumasi for many years without whom we would not be sharing the success story of the hotel today.
The immediate past President of the Ghana Hotel Association, Mr. Herbert Aquaye, added that the Royal Basin Hotel, since its inception, had chosen the right products and finishes for its construction and employed the right staff.
According to him, the secret of the hotel was putting in place the right management systems and standards.
The management also took the opportunity to celebrate two members of staff, Ivy Jomoh, the House Keeping Manager and Isaac Akwetei, the Laundry Services Supervisor, who have played integral roles in the success story of the hotel since its inception.
Royal Basin Hotel has, over the past 25 years, won several prestigious awards highlighting its impact and contribution to the hospitality industry. These include;

• 4 time winner of the Best Three Star Hotel of the Year, Ashanti Regional Tourism Awards
• Best Housekeeping Of The Year Award and many others.
The hotel over the years has hosted very important personalities including former Nigerian President Gen. Abubakar, former President Gadaffi’s security entourage, AFCON 2008 officials, religious leaders and ministers of state.
