Market Summary
Guinness Ghana (+9.32%) and MTN Ghana (+0.80%) moved the benchmark index up by 14.97 points (+0.55%) to close the session at 2,719.24 with a year-to-date return of 40.05% while the market capitalization edged up by 0.25% to settle at GH¢62.45 billion.
The GSE Financial Index recorded no gains or losses, closing at 1,890.89 with a year-to-date return of 6.07% while the SAS Manufacturing Index advanced by 51.81 points (+3.67%) to close at 1,464.59 with a year-to-date return of -13.91%.
A total of 130,055 shares valued at GH¢227,163 changed hands from 305,678 shares valued at GH¢832,797 in the previous session. Guinness Ghana dominated trades by volumes, accounting for 34.60% of the total volumes traded and Ecobank Ghana dominated trades by value, accounting for 49.02% of the total value traded.
