One of the world's largest hospitality companies, the Radisson Hotel Group has signed a strategic agreement with Ghanaian-owned Earlbeam Group of Companies to establish its first property in Africa under its Radisson Individuals brand.
Located in Dzorwulu, the property which will be christened the Earl Heights Suites Radisson Individuals is currently undergoing a full renovation and is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2021.
The 58-serviced apartments property will comprise studio apartments as well as one and two-bedroom suites. The property will also feature a spa, gym, pool, convenience store, and business centre.
Addressing the signing ceremony on Monday (March 1, 2021) in Accra, the Senior Director, Development, Africa, Radisson Hotel Group, Erwan Garnier said the Radisson Individuals brand is designed to celebrate the unique style of independent hotels in renowned cities around the world while offering such facilities the benefit of Radisson’s powerful infrastructure, brand awareness, channels of distribution and strong service standards.
He added that the latest partnership between the two companies compliments the Radisson Hotel & Apartments Accra which was announced last year and scheduled to open in 2023.
“We have identified Ghana as a key focus country in our five-year development plan and, Accra as a focus and primary city. The signing is also aligned with our current conversion-focused growth strategy, which will remain a priority, especially post-pandemic," Mr Garnier said.
"We are therefore proud of the Radisson Individuals African debut which will be on Ghanaian soil, carving the path for the new brand to continue its expansion across the continent. In proud partnership with Earlbeam Group of Companies, we are thrilled to be contributing to the country’s tourism industry, a key pillar of the national economy.”
The CEO of the hotel’s owning company, Earlbeam Group of Companies, Alfred Danso Darkwah said the partnership presents an exciting opportunity to re-invigorate the local hospitality industry which has been bedevilled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said such a partnership coupled with the commencement of vaccination against COVID-19 and the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) was proof that the local hospitality industry was on the path to recovery.
He was confident that the hospitality industry would make a full recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic by the end of 2022
He said: “The Earl Heights Suites Hotel partnership is an exciting opportunity - it brings together the union of Radisson Hotel Group and The Earlbeam Group Of Companies, two well-seasoned brands from the hospitality and real estate sector respectively. This will be the first branded aparthotel in Ghana, completely unique, providing each guest a boutique home-away-from-home experience.
"In addition, it delivers partner confidence, the guarantee of service standards, and assured safety and security, leaving a positive mark on Ghana’s hospitality sector. We believe this Radisson Individuals hotel will inject much-needed life within the local hospitality industry and pave the way for upcoming projects between Radisson Hotel Group and The Earlbeam Group of Companies".
