Market Summary
The benchmark index advanced by 34.09 points (+1.87%) on the back of Total Petroleum (+20.43%) and Ecobank Ghana (+18.61%) to close the week at 1,854.32 with a -17.85% year-to-date return. The market capitalization increased by 0.67% to settle at GH¢53.46 billion.
The GSE Financial Index was up 52.62 points (+3.24%) to close at 1,678.22 with a -19.91% year-to-date return while the SAS Manufacturing Index recorded no gains or losses, closing at 1,789.37 with a year-to-date return of -48.60%.
New Gold (-4.00%) was the sole decliner this week at GH¢105.50.
A total of 25,508,621 shares valued at GH¢ 60,495,926 changed hands from 37,587,374 shares valued GH¢23,213,076 last week. MTN Ghana dominated trades by volume, accounting for 60.59% of the total volume traded while Unilever dominated trades by value, accounting for 75.55% of the total value traded.
