The Otuasekan Rural Bank has donated a number of items to health facilities and communities in its operational areas to support the fight against covid-19.
The beneficiary health facilities were the Kofiase Health Centre, Nkenkaaso Government Hospital and the Abofour Health Centre.
The Kofiase Township, where the Bank's headquarters is located as well as Abofour and Nkenkaaso communities, also received some of the items.
The items included quantities of hand sanitizers, hand gloves, Veronica buckets and detergents.
Mr. John De-graft Owusu, General Manager of the Bank at a brief ceremony to present the items at Kofiase, said it was part of the Bank's contribution to support efforts by the government to fight the further spread of the coronavirus in the country.
He said the Bank recognized the need to care and protect its customers from being infected and spreading the virus in their various communities.
"As much as we value our customers and the community that permit us the space to thrive and operate, we believe in this crucial times of the COVID-19 pandemic is when to prove how much we care for the people, especially our customers and custodians," Mr Owusu emphasized
Mr. Michael Kofi Agyei, Head of the Kofiase Health Center, who received the items commended the Bank for the donation, and said the items had come at the right time to guarantee the safety of workers and frontline staff engaged in the fight against the virus.
Mr. Yussif Yakubu, Assembly Member of the Ahenbronum Electoral Area in the Kofiase community, thanked the Bank for coming to the aid of the people in the communities and supporting them to protect themselves from COVID-19.
He urged the people in the communities to strictly adhere to all the preventive protocols to stay safe.
