Standard Chartered (+1.00%) drove the market upward, closing the benchmark index 2.49 points (+0.11%) higher at 2,241.11 with a year-to-date return of -12.87% while market capitalization inched 0.05% up to settle at GH¢56.63 billion.
Accordingly, the GSE Financial Index was up 4.64 points (+0.24%) to close at 1,973.82 with a -8.35% year-to-date return.
The manufacturing index remained unchanged at 3,513.76 with a -24.49% year-to-date return.
Trading activity waned as 108,604 shares valued at GH¢93,082 changed hands compared to 222,076 shares valued at GH¢317,763 at the previous session. Societe Generale dominated trades by volume and value, accounting for 70.63% of total volume traded and 59.53% of the total value traded.
