"We are committed to building a relationship with relevant government agencies and other stakeholders to elicit their support for the business needs of our members and how we can contribute to the growth of the Ghanaian economy," she said.

Madam Swaniker said this at media launch of the Ghana Chapter of the Network in Accra.

The Network is an initiative of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, the Seed Transformation Programme, which has the objective of ending the cycle of poverty through partnership with entrepreneurs in emerging markets to build thriving enterprises to transform lives.

It is made up of a group of founders and chief executive officers from the East, West and Southern Africa and India with membership being leaders of high impact companies and market driven social enterprises.

Their membership followed their successful completion of the yearlong hands-on training of the Programme.

Based in Silicon Valley (USA), the Network has provided training for 631 company owners and 1,200 business leaders among others in Ghana since 2013.

 Madam Swaniker said members of the Network include founders and CEOs from a variety of fields including engineering services, education, transportation, energy, manufacturing, retail and wholesale, construction, agriculture, healthcare and ICT.

She said the Ghana Chapter sought to empower its members by providing opportunities to forge a common front and support each other grow from SMEs into multinational companies with the ability to compete at the global level for business opportunities.

She said their mission and focus was to transition local Ghanaian companies into international players, walking alongside current programme participants through the journey of transformation and paving the way for others to follow.

"Our specific objectives are to create learning environment that enables companies to leapfrog, foster a network that helps its members turn challenges into triumphs, encourage future leaders and innovators and create competitive advantage through partnership," she added.

Madam Swaniker commended the Executive Committee Members for their level of commitment towards improving the lot of the Network.

She said the National Executives would embark on working visits to the premises of their members to learn at first hand any challenges they face in their operations.

"We intend to collate these challenges and channel them appropriately for support in addressing them," she said.

She called on the media to prioritise challenges affecting Ghanaian businesses to draw the necessary attention and facilitate speedy resolution.
