Huawei, ranked by Forbes as the 79th Most Valuable Product in the world, has launched its Huawei Y7 Prime at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra.
The Country Manager of Huawei, Simon Liu, said that two months after the launch of the Y9 Prime in November 2018, their revenue share increased by fifty percent. This, he said, has encouraged the company to do more in order to increase their market share.
He said that they will dominate the medium to high priced range of phones already existing on the market. "The most important thing is quality and investing in research and development.
Last year, we invested 11.3 billion Euros ahead of Apple and Intel and close to Samsung and that drives us" he stated.
He said this year's Y7 Prime is based on the success of the Y9, with improvements on the phone's quality to provide users with a better experience for camera, screen size and more. "People like this smartphone, really " Mr liu emphasized.
Mr Liu recommended the Y7 Prime 2019 for university students, because they deserve good quality products which are affordable. He confirmed that the company is ready to provide 5G devices and will announce these later this year for the Ghanaian market.
Marketing Manager for Huawei Ghana, Mr Dennis Fixon Laryea, said that the Y7 Prime comes with improved features in comparison with its predecessor the Y9 Prime. These includes a bigger screen of (1520 x 720) and a 6.26 inch HD+ which is the first in Ghana. It also has 32 Gigabyte (GB) Random Access Memory (RAM) and a 32 Read-Only Memory (ROM) expandable to 512 GB external storage. My Laryea said that the expandable memory is fitted with an AI (Artificial Intelligence) mode that allows the phone memory to expand without freezing it.
He described Ghana as one of the brand’s key marketer in West Africa and China.
The phone also has three dedicated SIM card slots with a share feature that allows sharing data with other phones easliy as well as a Mac book. It also has dual 4G connectivity as long as the user's network provider offers the service.
The battery life has also been improved to 4000mAh which allows the average user to go two days without charging. It comes in three distinct colors; Coral Red, Aurora Blue and Midnight Black.
For photography lovers, the phone, according to Mr Laryea, has a Master AI Photography which identifies up to 22 different scenes or objects. The Y7 Prime 2019 which costs GHC 829.00 is available for pre-ordering in selected shops and comes with a Gift Box, 32 GB card and a Movie Voucher.
