The event was in partnership with Busy Internet, a local internet service provider.

The platform would afford Ghanaians the opportunity to benefit from reliable and high-performance digital channel designed to equip entrepreneurs and business minds to improve on their activities.

Mrs Ursula Owusu, the Minister of Communication, commended the initiative and said it would enable Ghanaians and entrepreneurs to use technology to create opportunities and maximize their potentials.

Mrs Owusu, whose speech was read on her behalf, said the platform would give opportunities to entrepreneurs to tap into vast stream of resources to share their products and services to the world of business and strengthen partnerships.

She said government had championed the course of digital transformation because of the benefits it would bring to businesses adding that technology would continue to impact every sphere of life when utilised effectively.

The Minister stated that building a strong digital channel would position the country to take advantage of the technology and commended Forbes for choosing Ghana as its first step to advance the digital platform.

She said the platform was an excellent option for innovators, small and medium enterprises to accelerate inclusive growth.Mrs Owusu said government was embarking on a vigorous infrastructure development in the Information and Communication Technology sector and urged companies to invest in the digital platform to provide the needed economic growth.

She expressed government commitment towards working with stakeholders to address any risk associated with the platform, with regards to cyber fraud, for smooth and sustainable working environment.

Mr Joe Tackie, the Chief Director, Ministry of Business Development, said government welcomed any intervention to enhance the youth’s capacity to take advantage the strong economy being created for entrepreneurs.

He said government’s agenda of ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ was achievable with the help of the private sector and would provide the enabling environment for investors to thrive.Mr Thomas Davis, the Chief Growth Officer of Forbes, said the launch of the initiative was timely because it would enable businesses to network for positive results.

He urged Ghanaians to make good use of the platform and ensure the desired impact was felt.
