Ecobank Ghana Limited has unveiled a new campaign to encourage cashless transactions among customers using the bank’s digital platform.
Dubbed ‘Ecobank Xpress Money Promotion,’ the campaign is designed to encourage existing customers and the general public to actively use the Ecobank Xpress Account for payments in place of cash transactions.
The promotion, which seeks to reward more than 70,000 customers of the bank, would be under the supervision of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) and it is expected to run from December 3, 2018 to March 8, next year.
At the launch of the promotion on December 3 in Accra, the Managing Director (MD) of the bank, Mr Daniel Sackey, stated that to be part of the promotion, customers needed to open the Ecobank Xpress Account instantly, fund it, use it for transactions and win prizes.
He said prospective customers could also withdraw or deposit money into the bank’s account from any of the over 1,500 designated Ecobank Xpress Point locations across the country.
“You can send and receive money to and from any bank account or mobile money wallet in Ghana, as well as send and receive money across the 34 countries we operate within Africa,” he said.
He stated that the Ecobank was the largest bank in Ghana in terms of deposits and loan book size.
“We do this by developing credible partnerships that provide our customers with convenience and accessibility service. As a bank, we are noted for many things but what remains unique is our ability to remain relevant and stay ahead of competition through innovation.
“We are also strong believers in rewarding our loyal patrons for their support. We have over the years launched many such promotions which have all been largely successful, attracting high customer patronage,” he stated.
He added that to facilitate customer transactions and promote convenient and accessible services, customers could either withdraw money from any Ecobank ATM, using the cashless function on the ATM or through third party agents located conveniently within their communities nationwide.
