Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister, has inaugurated a 22 member planning committee to organise a regional Trade, Investment, Tourism and Cultural Fair in 2019.
He said the fair was in line with Government’s vision of a Ghana beyond aid, and would provide a platform to prove the capacity of local industries.
Dr Letsa said socio-economic activities held the answer to the economic woes of the country, and that the fair would bring together industry key players and other stakeholders from within the region.
The Minister, who chairs the Committee, said the fair would help identify and promote traditional sports activity to international level, and called on members of the Committee and other subcommittees to contribute credible inputs towards the success of the fair.
Subcommittees include Works and Services, Security, Entertainment, Promotion and Marketing, as well as Technical Sub-Committees.
The last trade fair in the region was held in the year 2010.
