The statement said in her new position, Ms Wesley will be responsible for the smooth running of Emirates’ business in Ghana, overseeing sales and service functions for the airline's passenger, cargo and airport operations and will take effect from January 1, 2018. 

The statement said Cathy brings an extensive airline background to the business saying she joined Emirates in 2009 as a Sales Manager Durban and was relocated in Johannesburg in 2014 when Emirates increased its services to the city.

The statement said Ms Wesley started her career in South African Airways in 1982 and moved to Lufthansa in South Africa in 2002 as a key account manager and takes over from Hendrik du Preez who moved to Nairobi, Kenya as a Country Manager after four years in Ghana.
