The contest brought together male and female chefs from Dansoman, Kaneshie, Nungua, La trade fair among others to exhibit their cooking skills to mark the day.The Contestants prepared continental and Ghanaian dishes for three menu- starters, the main dish and dessert from the available ingredients.

Mrs Grace Amonoo, Head of Administration, Binatone in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the day was also to showcase the company’s products to the public and bring customers to demonstrate how they were used.

She said the day was considered to be a professional day for all chefs around the world to recognise the contributions they played. Mrs Amonoo noted that the celebration usually included culinary contests, where chefs of leading restaurants come together for a cooking contest to show their skills.

She said in other countries, Chefs visit orphans or kindergartens, workshops or hold seminars to teach children cooking and explain the importance of healthy foods. The winner of the contest was presented with binatone music fan, while all the other contestants received a product from the company including heaters, standing fans, pressing iron and multi-cookers.
