Mr Alhassan Mudashiru, Chief Executive Officer, Mudashio Enterprise, has urged corporate bodies to offer jobs to locals of the area they operate since it was the best way of empowering them economically.
"Most companies would want to build schools, hospitals and other amenities as part of their social responsibility. These are all good. But when you train and offer these locals employment, they would have a more defined social and economic security,” he said. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Tulaku, Ashaiman, he said “in any community where there were many idle minds and hands, frustration, poverty and vices ultimately undermine their very humanity.
Providing jobs for locals is not an act of charity but an economic and social imperative. Ensuring the economic survival of people close to you will ultimately ensure your own survival and prosperity.”
Mr Mudashiru, who specializes in the wholesale and retail of building materials, advised the youth to embrace technical and vocational skills training if they “want to be creative ,prosperous and independent.”
According to him “there is so much work to be done as far as technical and vocational work is concerned” and appealed to government to step up technical and vocational training to empower the youth as well as create more job opportunities.
