He also visited the political and administrative authorities in the Regions to discuss areas of collaboration and how GEPA services could improve Ghana’s trade and the agenda for job creation.

The visit offered him the opportunity to interact and share with GEPA staff the needed strategies to promote Ghana’s Non-traditional export products in the northern sector for increased exports.

He also met exporters and potential exporters and assured them of GEPA’s support in the production and marketing of their products.

Mr Sayibu paid visits to the Bolgatanga Crafts Village and Smock Market and educated the producers on the services GEPA provides and how they could improve on their products for the export market.

The exporters appealed to GEPA to include them in trade fairs and other events organised by the Authority.

The Deputy CEO used the opportunity to express the need for them to be professional in their work in other to be competitive. 

Mr Sayibu also interacted with the Regional Coordinating Councils of the three regions.

The discussions centred on how the agencies could and must collaborate together in the nation’s export and job creation agenda.

The Upper West Region Regional Co-ordinating Council appealed to GEPA to open an Office in the Region to facilitate the export of products.

Mr Sayibu expressed happiness about the request and said it was one of the activities being planned by the Chief Executive Officer of GEPA.

He assured them of the willingness of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo to support them to develop and promote export to bring in the necessary foreign exchange to improve the macro economy.

The GEPA is the National Export Trade Support Institution that facilitates the development and promotion of Ghanaian exports.

GEPA was established by Act 396 in 1969 as an agency of the Ministry of Trade and Industry with the mandate to develop and promote Ghanaian exports.
