Mr Vishnu Lutchmeernaraidoo, the Mauritius Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade in an interview with the Ghana News Agency commended Ghana for a smooth transition.      “The transition has been made in an incredible way which needs public commendation,” he added.

The Minister was in the country to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Akufo-Addo and also to extend an official invitation to the President, as the Chief Guest at Mauritius Independent Day ceremony to be held on March 12.

He said Mauritius has a lot to learn from Ghana’s deepening democracy and was impressed with its depth and width together with its beautiful division of powers.  He said when it comes to Ghana-Mauritius; the relationship has come a long way based on mutual cooperation in a win-win situation for all.

He reaffirmed Mauritius support and commitment to the new government, since they were dealing with the government of the day. As part of the Visit, the Minister will meet Mauritius business community in Ghana and pay a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff House.
