Eight out of ten European Affluents keep personal investments*. Western Europeans are the region’s biggest investors (78%), although Eastern Europeans** are not far behind (74%). Austria has the highest proportion of investors (89%), with the lowest in Hungary (68%).
While the average affluent investments are worth €22,192, over 13.1 million Affluent invest €95k or more and a staggering 2.4 million invest €550k or more. It will be of no surprise that a disproportionate number of these are based in Switzerland (12%).
The Top 3 owned investments amongst European Affluent are bank savings accounts, insurance pensions and real estate as investments. ING is the most used banking and investments company amongst the European Affluent.
