Vietnam targets to earn 13 billion U. S. dollars from garment, textile export this year, said Vietnam National Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) on Friday.
Last year, Vietnam pocketed nearly 11.2 billion U.S. dollars from garment and textile products to the world market, an increase of 23 percent year-on-year, according to VITAS.
Apart from traditional market including United States, the European Union and Japan, Vietnam is currently widening its market to China's Taiwan, S. Korea and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Vietnam is now the world's fifth biggest garment and textile exporter. According to VITAS, the country expected to earn 18 to 20 billion U.S. dollars from garment, textile export in 2015.
