The Kwahu-West Municipal Assembly has entered
into a Build, Operate and Transfer (B0T), agreement with three investors to construct a 1.4 million Ghana Cedi two-storey 141 lockable stores at its new bus terminal at Nkawkaw to enhance revenue generation.
Other investors are also constructing three water closet toilets at the suburbs of Nkawkaw under the BOT agreement.
Under the agreement, the Assembly would acquire 40 per cent equity while the investors will hold on sixty per cent for 30 years to re-coup their investment and later handed over the property to the assembly.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Alex Somuah Obeng, disclosed this at the second ordinary meeting of the fourth session of the Assembly at Nkawkaw on Wednesday.
He said the investors were obliged to pay an annual ground rent ranging between GH�1,500 and GH�2,000 to the assembly.
Mr. Obeng said the assembly had commenced the construction of 20 projects worth millions of Ghana Cedis from its share of the common fund and
the internally generated fund.
The projects included the Municipal Chief Executive and the Co-ordinating Director bungalows, five septic tanks place of convenience at Atwedie, Kwahu Daa, Nsuta-Aweregya, Trado, Badukrom and Gyamaase.
Others are; the drilling of 12 bore-holes and construction of classroom blocks in a number of communities in the municipality.
Mr. Obeng urged the assembly members to co-operate with the contractors to ensure early completion of the projects.
